Applying Knowledge. We desire to translate facts into application by preparing students to live out the Christian life in their community. At MCA our curriculum is set up so that students can learn not soley from their text, but by applying information they have learned in a classroom setting. We beleive this is just as important as retaining informarion for tests or quizzes.
Transforming lives to know Christ and to make Him known. We continually strive to create a community that is conductive to the Holy Spirit changing lives. As we grow in His likeness we also understand the call to make His name known to this county and beyond.
Whether it's leading a student to Christ or helping them walk through the sanctification process we desire to see our students grow in Christ. Also, helping them understand that God has designed them for His glory and we are called to live pleasing to Him. Not only do we make Jesus' name known through our words but also through our actions.
Where are we going? There is a principle called the "One Percent Principle" that says, if we can impact one percent of the people group we are targeting, we have the potential to sway the entire group. Jesus impacted a small group of twelve and look at the affect it has made on this world. With the power of Christ through the Holy Spirit in our lives, we beleive that same principle applies to us.
Our Vision: Educate McDowell County through equipping our MCA community.
"Without vision the people will perish." That verse is so true. We live in a county that is in desperate need of a vision that changes the way we look at education. An education that is founded on a Biblical Worldview, Honesty and Integrity, Truth, community, and Academic Excellence has the potential to change McDowell County.
